Tony Werner Joins Net2Phone’s Board of Directors
President and CEO of Aurora Networks and Former AT&T
Broadband CTO Joins Net2Phone’s Board and Consultant Company
outlines three-pronged approach to delivering voice and enhanced
services to broadband networks using VoIP technology
Newark, NJ -- November 15, 2000 --- Net2Phone Inc. (NASDAQ:
NTOP) today announced that Tony Werner, the president and
CEO of Aurora Networks and former CTO of AT&T Broadband, has
joined Net2Phone’s Board of Directors.
As board member and consultant, Mr. Werner will direct the
company on strategy for its broadband division. The company’s
three-pronged strategy for broadband services includes developing
Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions for broadband service providers,
integrating Net2Phone’s core technology into broadband devices,
and creating VoIP devices for broadband access networks. To
that end, Net2Phone has signed agreements with Rhythms NetConnections,
Flashcom, Scientific-Atlanta, and others to integrate Net2Phone’s
technology into their product and service offerings. The company
is also developing its own devices that enable IP voice over
Broadband.
Through this three-pronged strategy, Net2Phone can provide
rich and intelligent dial tone to consumers and businesses
using broadband, enabling the company to provide voice and
enhanced services as an added value to high-speed Internet.
Users can then make the most of their existing broadband connections
for voice as well as data, driving the ultimate convergence
of networks.

Tony’s background and knowledge of the broadband marketplace
is phenomenal, and we are very excited to have him on our
board for his insight, intelligence, and advice, said Cliff
Sobel, Chairman of Net2Phone. We believe Tony’s broad knowledge,
relationships, and experience will be integral to the success
of our IP voice over broadband division.
