 InfoSpace.com Enables One-Click Dialing by Integrating Net2Phone
Technology in Its Directory Services
InfoSpace.com directories have an unduplicated reach of 83 percent
of US Internet users and were rated No. 1 most viewed site by Media
Metrix in Jan., Feb. and March
Hackensack, NJ. and REDMOND, Wash. -April 6, 1999- IDT's (NASDAQ:
IDTC) Net2Phone, the market leader in IP telephony services, and
InfoSpace.com, (NASDAQ: INSP), a leading provider of private label
solutions for content and commerce today, announced an agreement
to enable one-click dialing by integrating Net2Phone's PC-to-phone
technology in InfoSpace.com's white and yellow page directories.
This integration will enable Internet users with Net2Phone technology
to make phone calls over the Internet simply by clicking on a phone
number they've found in InfoSpace.com's directories and save up
to 95 percent on traditional long distance calls. These calls are
routed over the Internet from the consumer's PC, offering full-duplex
real-time conversation. Recipients of these calls simply answer
their telephones as they would an ordinary telephone call.
InfoSpace.com's directories are available through its broad network
of affiliates including America Online, The Microsoft Network and
Netscape and have an unduplicated reach of 83 percent of US Internet
users and were rated No. 1 by Media Metrix in Jan., Feb. and March.
"We are very excited to enable one-click dialing from InfoSpace.com's
directory services, which are one of the most extensive on the web
and also have tremendous reach due to InfoSpace.com's valuable partnerships,"
said Mordy Rothberg, executive vice president of Net2Phone. "We
expect to enhance the functionality of InfoSpace.com's directories
by allowing users to place their calls without getting offline -
and users can also benefit from the savings on their long distance
bills."
"We are committed to providing Internet users the tools to find
and use real world information wherever they are," said Naveen Jain,
chairman and CEO, InfoSpace.com. "This partnership allows us to
add one-click dialing to our directories making them even more convenient
and easy-to-use and more attractive to large destination sites and
portals looking for private label content solutions."
