Former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Joins Leading International Communications Company in an advisory role

Hackensack, NJ. -- April 29, 1998 -- IDT Corporation (NASDAQ: IDTC) today named former U.S. Congressman and Vice Presidential candidate Jack Kemp as a Senior Strategic Advisor to IDT’s Board of Directors. Mr. Kemp will advise and assist the Company with its strategy to create a full-service global communications company. Mr. Kemp will also be active in helping the Company develop relationships worldwide and market its technologies for commercial applications. Prior to his appointment to the Cabinet, Mr. Kemp represented the western New York for 18 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.
