About VoiceLine

VoiceLine is a low-cost phone service that is an alternative to your traditional phone line. With a telephone, broadband Internet connection and a telephone adapter, VoiceLine allows you to make and receive calls at home or anywhere in the world. Since calls route through the Internet, the costs are less and the savings are passed onto you.

Getting started
Getting started with VoiceLine is easy! You will need:

  • A broadband Internet connection (DSL, cable, T1, or satellite)
  • An InnoMedia XT telephone adapter with built-in router (included with the purchase of VoiceLine service) or an XJ100 Wi-Fi Phone (available for $175)
  • A VoiceLine account, calling plan, and phone number
  • A regular telephone (cordless or wired)

Once you receive your telephone adapter, setup is simple. Plug your phone into your telephone adapter and then connect the adapter to your broadband modem as shown in the diagram below. For more information, view our Installation Tutorial.

All monthly calling plans include great features such as VoiceMail, call waiting, caller ID, 3-way calling, and call forwarding -- at no extra charge. VoiceLine-to-VoiceLine calls are also free.

Startup costs
When you sign up for VoiceLine, these one-time charges apply:

InnoMedia Telephone Adapter
FREE*
Service Activation Fee $29.99

*Free adapter offer is available to U.S. residents only. A shipping and handling fee applies. A $39.99 early deactivation fee applies if you cancel your VoiceLine service within one year of activation.
**The service activation fee and early deactivation fee do not apply if you purchase the XJ-100 Wi-Fi Phone. You do not need the InnoMedia telephone adapter to make and receive calls with the XJ-100 Wi-Fi Phone, and the adapter is not included when you purchase the WiFi Phone.

In addition to the one-time charges, you will be charged for the first month of your VoiceLine service.

Choose your VoiceLine phone number
With VoiceLine, you can choose a new number in your local calling area or transfer your current number. Want your family and friends to be able to call you for less? VoiceLine lets you add additional phone numbers to your service with the calling area of your choice.

For example, if you live in New York City and have family in Miami, you can choose an additional phone number with a Miami area code. Now, when your family calls you, they will be charged the cost of a local call -- even though they are speaking to you in New York!

Also available are international phone numbers from over 25 countries, including Canada, the U.K., France, and Brazil.

Transfer your current phone number to VoiceLine
You also have the option of transferring your current phone number to VoiceLine. For further information and guidelines, click here.

Monthly billing
VoiceLine is a prepaid service, so you will not receive a bill in the mail. Each month your credit card will be charged the price of the plan you selected. Out-of-plan and overage calls will be charged to your credit card at the end of your current monthly cycle or when the amount of these calls exceeds $25, whichever comes first.

Manage your account online
You can log into the VoiceLine account center for a summary of your account, recent calls, and transactions. You can also listen to your VoiceMail messages, manage your feature settings, and update your account information.
