Installation
For complete installation instructions, view our installation
tutorial. You can also download our Getting
Started Guide. You will be up and running -- and making
calls -- in a few minutes.
IMPORTANT: Installation is complete when the “Run”
LED on the top of the InnoMedia XT (MTA) is a steady
green. This may take several minutes. When you pick up your
phone handset, you should hear a dial tone. You are now ready
to make phone calls!
Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting Checklist
Installation is complete when the “Run” LED on
the top of the InnoMedia XT (MTA) is a steady green.
This may take several minutes. When you pick up your phone
handset, you should hear a dial tone.
If you do not hear a dial tone...
Check that you have your MTA connected properly. Consult
the Getting Started
Guide for details.
If there is still no dial tone...
Reboot the MTA by unplugging the power supply and then plugging
it in again after waiting two minutes.
If there is still no dial tone...
Check that your broadband connection is functioning properly
and then check the MTA's Internet connection to make sure
that the device was able to obtain an IP address (pick up
the telephone handset and dial ***1). If you hear "0.0.0.0"
announced as the IP address, it means that the MTA did not
obtain an IP address. You should follow the instructions
below for "cloning" your computer's MAC address
to the MTA. If you are still unable to obtain an IP address,
it is possible that your MTA is not functioning properly.
Please contact VoiceLine customer
support for further assistance.

"Cloning" a computer's
MAC address to the InnoMedia MTA
Some ISPs restrict Internet access to the first computer that
was connected to the DSL/cable modem. This is done by registering
the MAC address of the computer and restricting Internet access
to that specific MAC address. Any device with a different
MAC address will not be able to obtain an connection.
Many routers, including the InnoMedia MTA, resolve this issue
by cloning the MAC address of a computer. To enable MAC address
cloning on the InnoMedia MTA, follow these instructions.
First you will need to find out the MAC address of your computer:
- On the Windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen, click
Start and then click Run.
- Type cmd in the text box and click OK. A
DOS prompt will be displayed in a new window.
- Type ipconfig /all at the DOS prompt and press
the Enter key. (Make sure that there is a space between
"ipconfig" and "/all.")
- Write down the Physical Address, which is a 12-character
code in the format xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. (Physical Address
is another name for MAC Address.)
- Close the window with the DOS prompt.
Once you know your MAC address, you may configure your InnoMedia
MTA:
- Use a standard Ethernet cable to connect the WAN port
of the MTA to your DSL/cable modem.
- Use a standard Ethernet cable to connect your computer
to the LAN port of the MTA. Make sure the MTA, router, and
computer are all on.
- Open your web browser (we recommend using Microsoft Internet
Explorer).
- Type http://192.168.99.1 into the browser Address
field and press the Enter key.
- When prompted, type admin as the Username and n2p
as the Password. You should now see a web page for configuring
your InnoMedia MTA.
- Click Router Settings.
- Click MAC Cloning.
- Type in the MAC address of your computer.
- Click Enable Mac Cloning.
- Click Save, wait two minutes, unplug the MTA's
power cord, and then plug it in. This will ensure that the
MTA has rebooted with the new settings.

Modifying Your Firewall Settings
If you have a firewall and are unable to use VoiceLine, you
may need to modify your firewall settings by opening ports
and by allowing VoiceLine servers to connect with your computer.
The following ports need to be open in both directions:
80 (TCP)
5060 (UDP)
9000-9006, some firewalls will also require 20000-22000
(UDP)
The InnoMedia XT also uses 10000-10006
The following servers are used for the VoiceLine service:
66.33.146.18
216.53.127.19
prov1.net2phone.com
prov2.net2phone.com
sipvoiceline.net2phone.com
You can also try to put the MTA in a DMZ, but this does not
always work.
